68 days of the FOLKLORE app

In 68 days FOLKLORE added 6 new festivals, covers 183 events, and has 400+ active users. The developers spent 735 hours programming. The app brings folklore lovers together, makes event information easy to find, and has more growth planned.

What did we manage in the 68 days since FOLKLORE launched?

68 days have passed since FOLKLORE launched — an incredible 1,632 hours of work, new ideas, and, above all, folklore. What did we get done in that time? The app keeps growing and getting better, and we are glad to share everything we have managed since launch. We will start with what matters most: the festivals and events the app covers.

Festivals and events under one roof

In the last two months we added 6 new festivals to FOLKLORE, and you will already find 183 events you can go to. Every event is in one place, so there is no long hunt for programmes across different websites. With FOLKLORE you have easy access to everything you need. Where is the event? When does it start? How do I get there? You will find it all in the app.

And, as we say in Moravia, you have got it all together — interactive maps, photos, and the chance to build your own list of favourite events. All of it is there to make your folklore day as pleasant as we can.

The technical side: how the app was built

Building an app is not only ideas. Every improvement sits on hours of hard work. We spent 735 hours programming FOLKLORE and closed more than 420 tasks. We keep working so the app runs smoothly and feels as good as it can.

Each update brings small and larger improvements that make it easier to plan folklore events and festivals. You should not have to spend a minute more than you need, because we try to keep everything as simple as possible.

The FOLKLORE community: more than 400 active users

FOLKLORE has become a favourite among people who love traditions — more than 400 people use it actively today. Our community on social networks is growing quickly too, and already includes more than 200 keen folklore fans who follow the news and share what they notice.

Our aim is a tool for everyone who loves folklore and tradition. FOLKLORE is not only an app. It is a door into folklore life, whether in the Czech Republic, in Slovakia, or anywhere else.

What next? What we are looking forward to

We have big plans for the app. Our dream is that FOLKLORE brings together everyone who loves tradition and helps them find festivals and events they would otherwise miss. We plan to add features that make the app nicer to use and make it easier to talk with organisers and other visitors.

Thank you for your support, and for being with us on this road. As we say in Moravia: “When we stick together, everything goes better.” Together we are building a bridge between tradition and modern technology, so folklore is within reach for everyone.
