Adding a festival
Dear folklore festival organisers and users. FOLKLORE now has a way for you to add your festival to our database, or to record your interest in a festival. Whether you run a traditional harvest festival, a grape harvest, Shrovetide celebrations, or another folklore event, you can add it to our list with ease.
To add a festival successfully we need the following:
- Festival name
- Description of the event
- Festival website
- A representative image
- A URL for buying tickets
- Links to the festival's social media
- The programme
- Name and description
- Performers
- Start and end date and time
- The exact location and place name, or a Google link
Our team will make sure your proposed festival is handled with care and added to the app. Adding it usually takes 1–3 days, depending on how complex the event is and how much material you send. In most cases you can expect the festival to be in the app the day after we have everything we need.
Manage
And that is not all. The FOLKLORE team keeps improving what the app can do. We are preparing a new product for you, MANAGE, an administration website. This tool will let festival organisers import information about their events from different sources (websites, documents, text), fill in the data in advance, and see how their festival will look in the app before it goes live.
With MANAGE, organisers will be able to add places on the interactive map, shape how their brand is presented, and keep users informed about any changes or updates. The platform is designed to extend the reach of folklore events and to simplify promoting them.
What next?
We also plan to add a way to communicate with users, statistics, and ticket sales next year.
