We are delighted to introduce the latest updates to the Folklore app, designed to make your festival and event experience even better. From new languages, through offline access, to improved designs, this update is full of changes that help you discover and enjoy cultural events as never before. Let us look at what is new, and how these changes improve your visit, with a focus on Chodské Slavnosti.
Slovak and German
We are widening the reach of the Folklore app so more people can use it. With Slovak and German added, you can now set the app to the language you prefer, which makes festivals, events, and places easier to discover. Whether you are in Bratislava or Berlin, the app is now friendlier and simpler to use.
Offline access to all of your data
No internet? No problem. All of your favourite data — festivals, events, places, likes, and tickets — is now stored on your device and available offline. Plan a festival visit or check saved events whenever and wherever you like, without a network connection. That is ideal for remote festival sites where the signal can be weak.
A better design for festival and event cards
We redesigned the festival and event cards so they hold more information and still stay clear and good to look at. Together with Alois from Cimbálové, we also plan to add relevant labels and actions at the top left, for leaving feedback, buying a ticket, or telling event types apart.
These changes make it easier to browse and decide which festivals or events to visit, all at a glance.

Chodské Slavnosti uses a detailed view of places such as cash machines, toilets, and more, which makes the visit a little easier. Whether you are exploring the events of Chodské Slavnosti or looking for toilets, a cash machine, or parking, the Folklore app has you covered.
Better sorting, updates, and performance
We tuned the app for a smoother experience:
- Better festival sorting: find the right festival with improved sorting by date, place, or popularity.
- Faster updates: stay current with festival and event updates in real time.
- Better performance: every screen now loads faster, so you can focus on planning your next trip.
Place filters and detailed place pages
Finding the right place is now easier thanks to place filters, which let you narrow the list to what you prefer. A place page now also includes a description when one is available, with more about the history, the atmosphere, or what makes the place distinct. Whether you are looking for a cosy outdoor stage or a busy festival ground, these additions help you choose with better information.
Sign-in that renews itself
No more signing in again and again. The app now renews your authentication token automatically, so you stay signed in without needless hurdles. Enjoy uninterrupted access to your saved festivals, tickets, and preferences with this smooth update.
